Senior Minister (Defence) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that non-Muslim wedding ceremonies are now allowed.

Wedding ceremonies can be carried out at houses of worship and religious associations with the presence of the Assistant Registrar of marriages appointed Section 28 of the Law Reform (Marriage and Divorce) Act.

However, the number of individuals in the ceremony cannot exceed 20, including the Assistant Registrar of marriages.

This figure is also subject to the capacity of the premises and the ability to maintain social distancing.

Ismail Sabri states that the wedding ceremonies have to comply with the National Security Council’s (MKN) standard operating procedures (SOP)

It should also be noted that wedding receptions remain banned.
