The fifth phase of the Movement Control Order (MCO) was scheduled to be extended until 12 May 2020. Additionally, the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) has allowed more people to move around and resume their work as long as they follow precautionary measures.

Naturally, this doesn’t mean that the MCO has lifted. Whether or not the CMCO will be extended still depends on advice from the Ministry of Health.

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob notes that the government will make an official announcement two or three days before the end of the current MCO phase.

The CMCO allows most economic sectors to resume operations, businesses to resume their regular business hours, and vehicles to be on the road at any time. However, the public must still ensure strict social distancing and sanitary regulations.
