From 30 April to 3 May, as a sign of solidarity to frontliners who are working to stop the spread of Covid-19, three areas around Istana Negara will be illuminated with blue lights from 10.30 pm to 1.30 am.

The areas are the Dataran Kawad (marching square), the Kubah Anjung Utama (main dome) and the Pintu Gerbang Utama Istana Negara (main archway).

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah consented the Palace to join the ‘Light it Blue’ – a campaign to show gratitude and appreciation towards the sacrifices made by frontliners.

Light it Blue will also involve several other landmarks such as government buildings, commercial buildings and certain roads in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan.

Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa said it’s a way of saying thank you to those who risk their lives to combat the coronavirus.
