On 24 October, the Malaysia with Palestine Gathering at the Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil received a positive response from the local community.

With over 16,000 attendees at this peaceful assembly, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, fresh from his visits to Turkey and Egypt, joined to express solidarity with Gaza’s fighters.

During the event, Anwar revealed that he had been targeted with numerous threats from countries in the United States (US), Europe, and Israel due to his outspoken stance on the Palestinian issue.

He also stressed that he would not bow to threats from other countries as long as he has the mandate and trust of the people as the head of government.

Asked about the effect of this stance on the country’s security, Anwar said he was not worried about this and was leaving it to Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Razarudin Husain to handle the matter.

Following the revelation of these threats, the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has assured that security control for the Prime Minister will be increased.

IGP Tan Sri Razarudin Husain made it clear that the police would not compromise on this matter.

“The security of the Prime Minister is our top priority,” he firmly stated.

He also stated that these threats might encompass economic or other sectors, including the country’s exports.

This statement was issued by the IGP when asked to comment on Anwar’s revelation of receiving threats from foreign countries following Malaysia’s firm stance in defending the Palestinian people’s interests.

Simultaneously, Anwar affirmed that Malaysia would continue to vocalize its support for the Palestinian issue and uphold the nation’s freedom, as well as champion the freedom of the Palestinian people.

The Malaysia with Palestine Gathering, which brought together people from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and religions, demonstrated the collective spirit of Malaysians in wholeheartedly supporting their Palestinian counterparts.

According to Razarudin Husain, the gathering, involving over 300 police personnel, proceeded in a secure and controlled environment.
