On 4 July 4, the Ministry of Education Malaysia (KPM), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and UNICEF, will launch an initiative to promote the consumption of plain water to combat non-communicable diseases.

This initiative will involve over 4 million students in all government schools and teaching institutions, KPM officers, state education departments (JPN), district education offices (PPD) and KKM personnel.

As part of this initiative, an attempt will be made to break the record for the most people drinking plain water simultaneously.

The event will be broadcast live on the official Facebook pages of KKM and KPM and officiated by the Minister of Health, Dr Zaliha Mustafa, and Minister of Education, Fadhlina Sidek.

KPM targets 4.7 million participants from 10,231 schools, educational institutions, education offices and government health facilities.

KPM hopes the initiative will help instil healthy habits in students and reduce the incidence of non-communicable diseases in the country.

Meanwhile, schools across the nation have been practising for the big day.

Healthy Habits For Life: Teaching Kids The Importance Of Drinking Water

Drinking water is important for everyone, especially for kids.

Water helps to keep their bodies hydrated, which is important for maintaining healthy skin, regulating body temperature, and supporting bodily functions such as digestion and circulation.

Additionally, drinking water can help prevent dehydration, which can cause headaches, fatigue, and other health problems.

Encouraging kids to drink more water can also help them establish healthy habits that will benefit them throughout their lives.
