Nur Habibi Qalbi, a resident of Dungun in Terengganu, was shocked to receive an electricity bill of RM600 for two months despite the minimal usage of electrical appliances in her home.

In a Facebook post, she listed the main appliances in her home, including an air conditioner that is not used 24 hours a day, a smart TV that is rarely used, a refrigerator, a water filter, and a washing machine that is only used twice a week.

She also stated that the lights in the house are not turned on for 24 hours.

Despite this, her two-month electricity bill was RM600, which she found to be an unreasonable price.

She compared the usage of all electrical appliances in her home and found that the monthly electricity bill should cost about RM300, as other electrical appliances are not used frequently.

For example, the iron is rarely used, the lights outside the house have not been turned on for a long time, and the dryer at home is broken and has not been used for at least 3 months.

Woman Lodges Complaint And Arranges For Inspection

Netizens who saw Nur Habibi Qalbi’s post suggested that she report the issue to TNB to check for any leakage in her home.

Others recommended hiring a technician to check for any problems with the electric meter, electric wires in the house, or damage to electrical appliances that could lead to high electricity bills.

In response to these suggestions, Nur Habibi Qalbi complained to TNB and arranged a personnel inspection.

The inspection will determine if any issues with the electric meter or electrical wiring in her home could be causing the high electricity bill.
