Well-known cosmetics entrepreneur Datuk Aliff Syukri has come forward to express his sadness on being criticised by netizens.

Aliff had been condemned and reviled for sharing a holiday with his family abroad while the country was hit by the recent floods.

He explained that his family trip to Istanbul had actually been planned some six months ago before the floods hit.

Why am I often criticized? My guess is on vacation. Many were dissatisfied and 1 Malaysia condemned me for my planned vacation abroad 6 months in advance of the disaster.

Datuk Aliff added that he already suffered a loss of hundreds of thousands of ringgit because his chalet was damaged due to flood currents.

The entrepreneur also refused to share how he plans to help flood victims, as he don’t want to be accused of showing off.

Do you know that my business is also affected, my resort lost hundreds of thousands (ringgit)? I don’t want to share what I am going to do (to help others), later you will say I’m showing off.

Aliff, meanwhile, asked for the prayers of the people so that the return journey for him and his family to the country would be simplified and he would be able to continue delivering aid to the victims affected by the floods.

Even though my body is here, my heart has reached Malaysia. Pray for my journey home to be made easier and for me to be able to channel what little aid to ease their destruction and grief.
