Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy) Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, or commonly known as Tok Pa, has tested positive for Covid-19.
According to a report by The Star, the Economic Affairs Minister’s Covid-19 test result was made public through a statement from his office.
It said that Tok Pa was confirmed positive on Saturday night (9 January), after taking a test as soon as he reached Kota Baru, Kelatan, that morning.
He is currently being warded at Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II, Kota Baru for observation, but in stable condition.

Tok Pa had also been screened for Covid-19 on 1 January and tested negative. As such, all his close contacts between 1 and 9 January have been advised to get themselves screened for the virus as soon as possible.
His office added that Tok Pa apologised for all the inconvenience caused.
Tok Pa is the second Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department to test positive for Covid-19. In October 2020, Religious Affairs Minister Datuk Dr Zulkifli Mohamed Al-Bakri confirmed on Twitter that he had tested positive as well.
