3 Talented Malaysians Take Home Prestigious Diana Award

Nelson Jia Jun Ng, Prevena Ramakrishnan, and Priyanka Vairavasundaram have won the Diana Award 2020 for their exemplary work in social action and community support.

What you need to know:
Nelson, 23, founded student-led NGO ProjectEd that enables underprivileged students in Malaysia to pursue tertiary education through scholarships, digital mentorships, and educational workshops regardless of socio-economic background.
Prevena, 17, advocates for women and girls in STEM and mentors young women and girls to create various innovation programmes to support gender equality in STEM education with the Talent Developing Society.
Priyanka, 22, conducts free enrichment programmes for underprivileged students through SPARK, which has already benefited 3,900 students.

Why it matters: The Diana Award was established in the memory of Diana, Princess of Wales. She is well-known for her charity and activism work, and this award is the most prestigious accolade a young person can receive for their social action and humanitarian work.
