MOE: Year End School Holidays Cut To Two Weeks For 2020

The Education Ministry (MOE) announced that the year end school holidays have been reduced to two weeks due to interruption of the schooling session caused by the pandemic.
In a statement, MOE explains that the decision was made to help schools plan the teaching and learning session for students and teachers.
With the adjustment, the year end school holidays for Group A is reduced from 42 days to 14 days, while Group B’s holidays are reduced from 41 days to 13 days.
The new year end school holiday dates are as follows:
- Group A – 18 – 31 December 2020
- Group B – 19 – 31 December 2020
Aside from that, the mid-year semester break for the second half of the schooling year has also been reduced to 9 days and 5 days for Group A and B respectively.
Group A comprises states that observe weekends on Friday and Saturday, while Group B are states that observe Saturday and Sunday as weekends.
