A Tiktok user Zoe (@Zohtaco) excitedly posted about a beautiful Charles and Keith bag her dad bought for her and said it was the first luxury bag she ever had.

She happily modelled the new black tote bag in a few videos for her followers to see.

However, she received an unkind comment from someone who hinted to her that Charles & Keith isn’t a luxury brand.

Zoe was evidently upset by the comment but didn’t let it slide. In a video response to the mean commenter, Zoe pointed out the commenter’s privileged upbringing and explained how her family moved to Singapore with nothing much.

There were times her family couldn’t afford simple things such as bread.

She pointed out that the S$80 bag was a luxury to her because it costs a lot to her family and her father worked really hard to get her a gift.

I’m so grateful that my dad was able to get me one. He worked so hard for that money. I can’t believe I got hate over a bag that I was so excited to have.

Netizens who felt for Zoe gave her words of encouragement and also tagged Charles & Keith to send her some gifts.

Netizens also reminded her to ignore the haters and that getting a gift from the family is what makes something a luxury, instead of the price tag.

A few netizens shared that Charles & Keith bags were also their first luxury item purchase before they could move on to buy bags from brands such as Dior and Louis Vuitton.

In another clip, Zoe thanked the netizens who supported her and showed her love. She also addressed the negative commenter, who allegedly made another account to make more comments, in the same video.

Zoe said just because someone isn’t well off, it doesn’t mean they can’t have or don’t deserve nice things. It just might take a longer time to save up to get the item they want or gradually pay it in full.
