[Watch] Residents Work Together To Stop Burglar From Escaping in Keningau

One of the residents in Taman Adika in Keningau rammed into the suspect’s car to force him to stop by the roadside.

Residents in Taman Adika in Keningau, Sabah, worked together to stop a burglar from escaping in a car.

The burglar tried to flee in his car after breaking into a home around 2.30pm on Monday, 31 October.

According to The Star, one of the residents used a four-wheel drive vehicle to ram into the rear of the suspect’s car.

The other residents quickly apprehended the suspect when he was forced to stop by the roadside.

In one of the videos that went viral online, a man could be seen dragging the burglar by his shirt collar to stop him from escaping.

They tied him to a lamp post before handing him over to the police.

Keningau OCPD Deputy Superintendent Nor Rafidah Kasim confirmed the police were alerted to the incident.

She said the suspect attempted to escape in a black Perodua Bezza which bore a fake license plate before he was stopped by the residents.

The case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for housebreaking and theft.

The police thanked the public for their help in apprehending the suspect. They also advised everyone not to make speculations about the incident so it wouldn’t jeopardize the investigation.
