Muar MP Syed Saddiq has been relentless in his work for the people of his constituency. This time, his notable food bank donation to 5,000 families in need drew the attention of Malaysians outside of Muar as well.
Syed Saddiq proved the amount of good that could be done when people and businesses work together. Accoding to his Twitter post, the food was provided at a steep discount by KK Mart, while six 20-tonne trailers were provided for free by TheLorry.

Because of these generous cost-cutting measures, the original donation amount which was budgeted for 3,000 families could be stretched out to help 5,000 families.
The food aid included pantry basics such as a 10kg bag of rice, bihun, cooking oil, flour, kicap, chili sauce, biscuits, tea, and canned sardines.
Rallying support
Netizens shared an outpouring of support to see such good deeds being done, especially after the nationwide #BenderaPutih movement to call for aid.

Im very impressed. Well done and thanks to those offering discounts and services. During these difficult times any help is much appreciated. If all our country’s leaders are even half of @SyedSaddiq, we will be in a better position. Don’t just talk the talk, but walk the walk.

Kalau di uni, dah dapat Anugerah Dekan.
Some netizens called on other MPs to emulate what Syed Saddiq is doing– helping the people directly.
This is crazy, dia sorang je boleh tolong sampai 5000 family kat Muar tu and mungkin lepas ni satu johor dia bantu. Yb yang lain tu buat apa? Duk kumpul harta lagi? Ke rebut kerusi lagi

Even his fellow peers applauded him, claiming that while young, he had much to teach the older generation of politicians.
Never treat youngsters as a competition instead treat them as colleagues or teachers. Learning always goes both ways. We can share our experience, they can share their creativity. As a senior politician, it's time to learn and adapt on the new ways of politics. Bravo @SyedSaddiq https://t.co/P0AhoBoPBN
