Hoorrey X Fest Raya 2023 was a Raya shopping event that was supposed to be held at WTCKL from 19 April until 21 April for 72 hours non-stop. It was then changed from 18 April to 20 April.
Reportedly, there will be around 250 vendors with 100 celebrity entrepreneurs gracing the event such as Zamani Slam, Jaafar Onn, Ayle Floor 88, Amer Forteen, Elyana, Aidil Aziz, Izzue Islam, Noraniza Idris, Rina Eva, Anne Abdullah, Farah Wahida, Cat Farish, Ayu Damit, Soffi Jikan, Nubhan Ahmad and many more.
The event was promoted extravagantly on various channels and was supposed to happen at WTCKL but things started to take a wrong turn at the last minute.
Just a day before the event (17 April), the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) announced that the event, organised by Tenview (M) Sdn Bhd was cancelled. They will not take responsibility for any losses involved with this event as they are only the venue provider.

Hundreds of vendors were furious at the organiser
Not only did it happen at the last minute but, the refunds are all in limbo for the said 250 vendors.
The CEO of the event, Datuk Mohd Alif Hakim explained in a press conference yesterday (19 April) that the event was cancelled due to a withdrawal of the main sponsor, which caused the payment for the location of the event to be unpaid.
According to Media Variasi, vendors can either wait for the refunds or join another event that will be held by them in the future.
@annisahalalmartks Putar belit cerita je boy iman ni. Kami vendors pun taktahu yang boy iman adalah organizer. Kami cuma tahu, “dato” alif ni CEO. Kami dianiaya! #hoorreyxfestraya #boyiman #scam #pwtc #wtc #eventscam ♬ original sound – Annisa’ Halal Mart
This further frustrates the vendors as they’re not only suffering from the rental space refund, but they suffered losses with their products, logistics, workers’ wages and more.
Most of the vendors selling Raya clothing, food, cookies and Raya accessories had to bear losses of almost hundreds of thousands of ringgit because they had ordered a lot of stock and it was not possible to sell before raya.
“We made many bottles of Kuih Raya and suddenly the expo was cancelled, and we lost almost RM10,000. Where else do we want to sell raya cakes if not during raya?,” said one Kuih Raya seller.
Another clothing apparel vendor named Seco Ventures also said that they ordered almost 1,000 pairs of Baju Melayu and Kurta to be sold at the event but then had to suffer almost RM50,000 worth of loss for the stocks.

There’s also a suggestion saying that the board of directors will put up their 7 cars as collateral within 7 days to settle the refund.

Looks like a familiar scam?
Some people alleged that the event was masterminded by a local celebrity that had several past controversies. The said local controversial celebrity was allegedly involved in past property scams in 2017.
But based on his statement, the celebrity denies any blame for this event as he is not the CEO, but only a worker in that company.
I am not qualified to speak, let alone give any statement regarding the company because it is NOT my company.
Local controversial celebrity
I am not the CEO of the company, nor am I responsible for the company’s ACCOUNT, the company’s journey, the company’s SOP, the company’s DECISIONS as long as the company is still operating and legal and has the company’s OWNER, the company’s BOARD OF DIRECTORS and the company’s CEO.
I am just an EMPLOYEE who receives a salary subject to the job OFFER LETTER and APPOINTMENT LETTER issued to me according to the SCOPE OF WORK stated therein SIGNED by ME and the CEO of the company.
