It’s estimated that some 20,000 Malaysian students are stranded overseas as the country had to close its borders due to Covid-19, according to Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Special Functions) Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Yusof.
Before the government can bring them back, Mohd Redzuan said there are several matters that had to be considered, such as the legal aspect of the situation.
He also said the process will be done in stages.
For example, does the country allow international flight to enter or leave its border. Like in the United States, the (Covid-19) cases is increasing, we are very concerned and we want to take advantage of its airspace, which is still open, to bring back the (Malaysian) students
