Kuala Lumpur might see more drones in the sky as the City Hall is testing the feasibility of these flying machines to be used for sanitation exercises.

Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa said they are one of the options being tested to disinfect high-rise buildings.

It was reported that the municipality recently tested the 1.2 metre drone at Jalan Hassan Salleh, Kuala Lumpur.

The drones were originally used for agricultural spraying but the nozzle can be modified to fit the a specific purpose.

It has a 20-minute flight time with eight spraying nozzles and has the ability to carry 16 litres of disinfectants.

Drones have been used for other purposes during the Movement Control Order (MCO) to fight the spread of COVID-19.
