Ministers Take 2-Month Pay Cut For COVID-19 Fund

The salaries of the Prime Minster, Deputy Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministers will be cut for two months to be redirected to the COVID-19 fund, the government announced today.

The government issued the statement announcing that the move was done in the light of COVID-19 and as a testament towards the government’s commitment to combat the coronavirus.

Launched on March 11, the COVID-19 fund was made as response to the pandemic that has affected many Malaysians. Currently the fund has collected around RM8,493,103.48.

It was previously reported that the Prime Minister receives around RM22,826 monthly while the Deputy Prime Minister gets around RM18,170.

As for Cabinet Ministers, they receive around RM14,907 monthly while Deputy Ministers earn around RM8,847.
