What happened to Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370?

This has been the question in the minds of almost everyone for the past nine years.

“MH370: The Plane That Disappeared” is a docuseries that will explore the unsolved disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 after it mysteriously disappeared mid-flight.

To this day, no one is sure what happened to MH370 but this documentary will shed some light on some of the major theories, as well as what happened before and after the flight disappeared from radar.

The new docuseries will premiere on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, which marks nine years since the aircraft went missing.

To tease the audience, Netflix shared a sneak peak of the show, which in return garnered mixed reactions from netizens globally.

Intan Maizura Othaman, wife of MH370 flight crew Mohd Hazrin Mohamed, also shared a short TikTok video of herself on Instagram asking Malaysians to tune in on March 8 when the docuseries releases.

Many Malaysians commented under her TikTok post, saying that they would definitely tune in while others left thoughts and prayers for her late husband.

Meanwhile on Twitter, some seemed almost excited and nostalgic for the docuseries. However, others questioned what good this would bring to anyone.

Malaysian Twitter user @shf_jr said:

I as a Malaysian still feel deeply saddened by the tragedy and feel sorry for the victim’s families until now. When I was 17, I waited everyday in front of my TV to hear any good news on this airplane. Even sadder, the victim’s car was still at KLIA covered in dust till now.

Another Twitter user @blackispeg said he was excited to watch the documentary despite it not being able to give any answers.

Truly how does a plane vanish without explanation? I’m very interested in seeing this documentary even if there are no answers.

On the other hand, some netizens also questioned the need for this docuseries given that this issue has been a huge question mark since the very beginning.

Twitter user @sampenfoldd said:

How are you gonna make a show about an event we know nothing about? Make it make sense.

Since we know nothing about what happened, what is the point of the series after all?

I hope the victims’ families get to benefit financially from this documentary. I will probably watch this as it looks interesting.
