Acer recently unveiled the Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition and announced its pre-order with limited units made available in Malaysia.
In collaboration with National Geographic (Nat Geo), each purchase of this special edition laptop helps support the US-based global non-profit in its work efforts to protect our world through exploration, research, and education.
Extending the spirit of Aspire Vero which is built on the Earthion platform, Acer Malaysia announced a trade-in programme that provides a proper channel for customers to recycle their working and nonfunctioning devices.
Acer is offering up to RM500 cash rebate vouchers to customers who participate to help our planet by completing the electronic device life circle in a proper manner.
In addition, Acer will channel RM100 from every purchase of Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition in Malaysia to fund tree adoption.
At the same time, every purchase of an Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition laptop helps to further the work of scientists, explorers and educators around the world affiliated with the National Geographic Society.
Acer has been ramping up efforts to reduce its environmental footprint overthe past few years. Born from Acer’s Earthion platform, the Vero line-up represents our latest effort. Our research and development team paid careful attention to every single detail of the laptop. From carefully selecting materials and designing the packaging, to optimising the internal layout and design to extend lifespan, we believe every small step matters in sustainability.

The Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition comes with several diagonal lines running across approximately half of the top cover.
Extracted from a topographic map, these lines divide the surface into
land and sea and allude to the impact of global warming on rising sea levels.
Opening the laptop, the eyecatching and iconic National Geographic yellow border is printed directly onto the bottom right corner of the keyboard.
In yellow print on the spacebar lies the message, “For Planet Earth”.
Acer’s research and development team proved that packaging does not need to become waste upon delivery. Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition’s inner packaging has been designed repurposed as a multipurpose box after the user sets up the laptop.
In addition to turning the inner partition into a triangular laptop stand, the box itself has enough character as a decoration to fit right into the user’s room, perhaps on top of a dresser or the corner of a desk.
Mindful of every detail, Acer’s innovative packaging design protects the devices with 85% recycled paper, plus a 100% industrial recycled plastic for the laptop sleeve and the additional sheet that sits between the laptop’s display and keys.
The Acer Aspire National Geographic Edition utilizes 30% PCR plastic throughout its chassis, saving 21% in carbon emissions in the production process.
The 30% PCR plastic is also utilized in the laptop’s screen bezel and 50% in its keycaps, further reducing the computer’s carbon footprint.
Looking towards the other end of the laptop’s lifespan, Acer has simplified the process of making repairs and upgrades with just a standard Phillips-head screwdriver thanks to its well-organized internal layout.
Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition is powered by an Intel Core i7 processor with 16GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD to offer a smooth computing experience.
Equipped with a 15.6-inch FHD IPS display, the laptop provides a generous selection of ports, including USB Type-C and two USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports, one of which can be used to charge mobile devices even when the computer is turned off.
Enabling reliable connectivity, the laptop features an RJ-45 Ethernet port and Wi-Fi 6.
Pre-orders for the Acer Aspire Vero National Geographic Edition start on 1 May at a retail price of RM4,299.
The laptop comes with Windows 11 and Microsoft Office Home & Student 2021.
Aligned with Acer’s efforts in breaking barriers between people and technology, Acer Malaysia also announced the new price tag for their sustainability-minded laptop – Acer Aspire Vero.
Effective 1 May 2022, both Intel Core i7 and Intel Core i5 models will be priced at RM3,699 and RM2,999 respectively.
