Instagram To Take Away ‘Swipe-Up’ Links & Replace It With Stickers Instead
The move makes sense in line with the rest of Instagram’s design.

The ability to put links in Instagram stories is a privilege limited to those who are verified or have at least 10,000 followers.
The logic is simple, by keeping the feature exclusive, Instagram can control the spread of misinformation and spam by bad actors.
Still, even for those who are privileged to have the feature, its implementation is limited to swipe-up links in Instagram stories.
That is going to change on Merdeka day (30 August in the US, 31 August to us in Malaysia).
Instagram is planning to introduce link stickers and it is exactly as it says on the tin. It is a little customisable graphic that can be placed in an Instagram Story that, once tapped, could take the viewer to a webpage.
It also comes with a few additional features.
Previously, viewers of Instagram Stories with swipe-up links could not react or reply to those posts, limiting engagement. With link stickers, they can.
Even with this new feature, there are no reports that Instagram is planning to make it available to the rest of the public. So, as far as we know, link stickers will be limited to the domain of the Instagram famous.
