Whether it be for work or study, having multiple monitors can be a blessing: One can be the word processor, the other the internet reference, one more for the chat group, and a dedicated one for that video chat.
It is not overwhelming when it becomes an advantage, or in some situations, a necessity as we work and study from home.
There are a plethora of options for monitors out there, but Dell recently announced a few new ones, so we thought we would take a look.
Dell 14 Portable Monitor (C1422H)
This is Dell’s first portable monitor and it is about the size of a display on a laptop. It is so portable, it even comes with a protective sleeve.
According to the technical specification, the Dell 14 Portable Monitor is only compatible with USB-C and is capable of putting out Full HD or 1920 by 1080 pixels at 60Hz.
On paper, it looks like it goes well with a laptop, as a companion display or for small group presentations. You can even connect it to your smartphone if the one you have supports it.
However, with an adapter, it could also be used as a portable display for a gaming console.
Dell 24 and 27 Video Conferencing Monitor (S2422HZ and S2722DZ)
Why get a webcam, a microphone, and a monitor separately when you can get all of them in one appliance? We guess that is the idea behind these two new monitors from Dell.
The displays are decent enough for work and story. The 24in monitor goes up to FullHD and the 27in model displays up to 2K resolution. It also comes with a standard set of inputs and outputs, so if your system uses HDMI, USB-C, or DP, it will work with this monitor.
Built-in is a 5MP pop-up camera that is more than good enough for video conferencing. It also has IR for Windows Hello, which is a Windows 10 feature that lets you log into your computer just by using your face.
On top of that Dell also built into these monitors noise-cancelling microphones and dual 5W speakers. It is a complete home video conferencing solution.
Dell 27 4K UHD USB-C Monitor (S2722QC) and Dell 27 USB-C Monitor (S2722DC)
These two displays combine no-frills displays Dell is known for with the convenience of a USB-C hub.
That means it can be used as a secondary display while charging the laptop or smartphone that is connected to it at the same time.
It also has built-in speakers that won’t take extra space on the desk.
A good balance of features makes these new Dell monitors suited for both entertainment and office setups.
Select between a 2K or a 4K model, you cannot go wrong with these.
