Two new premium foldable smartphones were the stars at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event this year. Built to last with the user’s work, watch, and play habits in mind, the third-generation Galaxy Z Fold3 5G and Galaxy Z Flip3 5G brought with them some compelling features.

What They Both Have In Common

Both the Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 are IPX8 water-resistant, a world-first for foldable smartphones. On the surface, both foldables have tougher glass and coatings to make them more scratch-resistant.

The folding mechanism is also improved to withstand years of use.

In simpler terms, the Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 would withstand everyday wear and tear more than their predecessors.

In addition to being tough, the Galaxy Z series smartphones, including the two that were introduced, will see more apps taking advantage of its dual-screens and flexibility.

Now let’s take a look at what each phone brings to the table.

The Galaxy Z Fold3 5G

Productivity and entertainment is the duality of the book like Galaxy X Fold3 5G. The smartphone opens up to a 7.6in 120Hz display and is compatible with the S pen.

In other words, it has a vast display that can fold away paired with an exceptional stylus. That is a killer combination.

That also makes the Z Fold 3 the spiritual successor to the once-popular Note series.

But, that is not all. Hidden under that display, is a camera. Another world-first for a foldable smartphone.

Here’s how it works: When the display is in use and the camera is not, the screen looks seamless and uninterrupted. However, then the camera is needed a spot where the camera is turns dark and transparent, letting the camera do its thing. There’s no moving parts.

Z Fold3 also has more features to take advantage of its unique format. It is also sleeker, thinner, and lighter than the Z Fold2.

The Z Fold3 will be available in Phantom Black, Phantom Green, and Phantom Silver.

Galaxy Z Flip3 5G

Fun, functional, and stylish, the compact fold-over Z Flip3 comes in 7 colours: Cream, Green, Lavender, and Phantom Black along with Samsung.com exclusives Gray, Pink, and White. There are a lot of official accessories that go with it as well.

The 120Hz screen is four times larger, the stereo speakers are better, and it has more fun features to boot.

Galaxy Buds2

Along with the new smartphones, Samsung showcased their latest true wireless earbuds, the colourful Galaxy Buds 2. This companion to Samsung’s ecosystem of personal portable devices comes in four colours: Lavender Graphite, Olive, and White.

They are Samsung’s smallest and lightest earbuds, but despite their diminutive size, the Galaxy Buds2 has Active Noise Cancelling to block distractions and make whatever you’re listening to, be it a phone call or music, sound crystal clear.
