Guinness Built A Whole House Just to Teach You How To Pour A Can

Guinness is giving away free cans, a glass, and RM10 in vouchers at TRX this weekend — walk-in, no registration. The catch? You have to learn what’s inside the can first.

Guinness Malaysia is turning two days at The Exchange TRX into a full house — literally.

From Saturday to Sunday (8 to 9 August), the brand is running House of Small, a walk-in pop-up built around one product: the new, smaller Guinness Draught in Can.

No tickets, no registration.

Just show up, let a host walk you through the rooms, and leave with a free can, a branded glass, and RM10 in vouchers — if you play your cards right.

The timing is not accidental.

Friday (7 August) is International Beer Day.

Guinness opened a house the very next morning.

A Free Can, But First, Learn Why It Works

At the centre of every is a nitrogen widget — a small plastic ball that releases a burst of nitrogen when the can is opened, recreating the surge-and-settle of a bar pour at home.

Most people who have ever drunk a Guinness from a can have no idea it is there.

House of Small is, at its core, a two-day campaign to fix that.

The Nitrogen Widget Challenge asks visitors to engage directly with the science behind the can.

Complete it, and Guinness hands you a free can and an RM5 voucher.

The product is the prize, the education is the point.
