Did you know that despite its name, Manhattan Fish Market (MFM) is a Malaysian F&B brand? Nope, it did not start in Manhattan, the first restaurant actually opened in Mid Valley Megamall, back in 2002.

But why Manhattan, you ask? The three founders were inspired by the Fulton Fish Market, once located below the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, where they were known to have the freshest catch of the day.

Fast forward to 20 years later in 2022, now they have around 26 outlets across Malaysia and more outlets across Asia and the Middle East.

They’re celebrating their 20th anniversary

To celebrate its anniversary in November, MFM is launching a brand campaign called What The Fish!

The brand brings 5 new mouth-watering menu items from lobsters and snow crabs to tiger prawns and calamari. Their five new offerings and prices are as follows:

Only three (Ajillo Poached Seafood Bucket, Flaming Bavarian Prawns and Herb Fromage Prawn Pasta) of the menus are available throughout all outlets across Malaysia.

The full premium seafood menu is only available across these outlets – IOI City Mall, Mid Valley, Sunway Pyramid, Sunway Putra, Aeon Shah Alam, Wangsa Walk Mall, Setia City Mall, and Aeon Tebrau City.

While fans enjoy our evergreen offerings, we want everyone to remember that there’s so much more to drool over besides our classic Fish & Chips. The Manhattan Fish Market is also about tasting amazing and surprising varieties.

We tried their Chilean Snow Crab Poached Lemongrass Seafood

We didn’t leave the premise empty-handed when they had their 20th anniversary launch yesterday at Sunway Pyramid. Are you kidding? We had to try some of their seafood sensations.

We tried the Chilean Snow Crab meal which featured snow crab, tiger prawns, calamari, mussels and veggies.

Although a bit hard to eat, the Snow Crab’s meat was so fresh, thick and juicy. Their large-sized tiger prawns were also incredibly juicy and soft, almost like cream, melting in our mouths. Their calamari rings were a bit chewy but still enjoyable. We weren’t a big fan of the chewy mussels but it’s good if you pair it with the sauce.

The snow crab meal comes with a side of lemongrass sambal. It had the right amount of sweet and savoury taste to it but the lemongrass bits were blended, so it’s a bit of like a booby trap situation for those who can’t chew their lemongrass bits well.

We totally had a food coma, no doubt about that. This meal is suitable for a 2-3 pax meal. Both of us were truly swamped by just eating the seafood alone.

If you wanna make it all worth it and filling, you can add their Garlic Herb Rice that comes in a set with any fizzy drinks and a soup for the day. The rice set has two types which are called the Cast Away (RM14.90) and Double Cast (RM29.80).

The What The Fish! campaign lasts for two months from 1 November to 31 December, so go reward yourself with this lip-smacking seafood goodness while you can!
