Feeling peckish while having your boba?
Worry not because the Alley is finally introducing their food series – Croffles!
With its signature deer logo, most boba milk tea lovers would definitely recognize this Instagram-worthy drink brand to serve sweet and creamy concoctions.
But do you know what’s better than a sweet drink? Some munchies to pair with it!
We tried the five different flavours of their croffles and here’s what we think!
The Taste Test – Five Fantastic Flavours
Classic – RM8.90
This is just a basic croffle – a croissant cooked in a waffle maker. Simple and classic.
This is actually an ideal choice to pair with their sweet drinks. It’s just something toasty and buttery that could clean your sweet-tooth palate.
Crunchy Salted Caramel – RM11.90
Topped with whipping cream and crushed cereal flakes, they drizzle the croffle generously with salted caramel sauce, giving it a hint of toffee and maple syrup flavour.
The crunch of the cereal and croffle itself, paired with the caramel goodness reminds you of the time when you go to the movies. It has a mild sweetness to it too. Nostalgic!
Oreo Chocolate – RM11.90
This warm croffle is topped with whipped cream, chocolate syrup and crushed Oreo cookies toppings. If you love cookies and cream, you should give this one a try.
It’s definitely a sweet affair, honestly.
Garlic Cheese – RM12.90
If you want something a bit more salty and savoury, you should try this one.
Glazed with Tru-Blue Garlic Butter and topped with Mozzarella cheese, the croffle is then drizzled with Kewpie Cheese sauce.
With the mild garlic taste, the strong Kewpie Cheese sauce pairs perfectly with the savoury mozzarella. If you want to get the stringy cheese effect, you better eat it while it’s hot!
Brown Sugar Deerioca – RM12.90
With whipping cream and a cup of Brown Sugar Deerioca, fans of The Alley’s signature Brown Sugar Deerioca will love this combination.
You can pour the boba pearls on the croffles yourself, which makes it an insta-worthy dish to try. Chewy, crunchy and sweet, this is actually a fun dish to eat!
The Verdict
All in all, we truly suggest consuming these croffles while they’re hot and fresh. Then you would get that toasty and crunchy texture.
For us personally, we would give the shout-out to the Brown Sugar Deerioca first, then the Garlic Cheese, followed by the Crunchy Salted Caramel and then the Oreo Chocolate.
The classic one is just best on its own, much like a plain butter croissant.
