Oversea Restaurant is back with a variety of mooncake selections this year that are bold and set to impress in accordance with their theme this year, Crazy Rich Flavours (yes, inspired by the Crazy Rich Asians movie!).

Their 2022 menu will feature both classic tastes and new innovations.

Look out for the brand new Lava Series mooncake featuring exciting flavours such as Matcha Lava, Custard Lava, and Durian Lava.

Otherwise, browse the Snowy Series of mooncake, which has a variety of flavours to choose from. Other than the usual lotus paste filling and red bean filling, the Snowy series also features other more modern flavours like red dragon fruit and pandan, which are a light yet fragrant addition to their mooncake selection.

If you want to keep things a little more traditional, pick up some of their Baked Series. They have classic flavours such as single yolk lotus paste, white lotus paste, and red bean, but also some fun flavours like chocolate and red dragon fruit too.

They even have the very classic options such as Shanghai-style single yolk mooncake or packed with assorted fruits and nuts for a true blast to the past.

All the mooncakes will come packed in vibrant floral designs with vivid colours, staying true to their Crazy Rich Flavours theme while being impressive gifts for others.

A Mid-Autumn Yee Sang

Additionally, they have also a brand-new platter for the restaurant this year called Moonlight Swirl, which is inspired by yee sang as usually enjoyed during Chinese New Year.

The special menu item comes interesting ingredients such as roasted duck and lotus seeds.

Much like usual yee sang, the Moonlight Swirl comes with a variety of ingredients on a plate which is then tossed in the air to celebrate the spirit of reunion and togetherness during the Mid-Autumn season.

However, the ingredients and flavours used are different. Succulent roasted duck pieces are used here instead of the salmon used during CNY, and steamed wraps are provided for a mini-DIY spring roll sort of experience.

It’s definitely something fun to do with family and friends to kick off a festive Mid-Autumn Festival!

The Overseas Restaurant’s Mid-Autumn Festival Set Menu is hand-picked by each outlet’s head chef, but will all come with the Moonlight Swirl and end with a delicious course of mooncakes.
