[Review] Starbucks New Summer 2022 Drinks Will Make You Wanna Go To The Beach!

Enjoy Starbucks Summertime Pleasures with two of their new frappes.

You know it’s summertime when Starbucks drops their Summer beverage line. (Of course, we have summer all year long but you get what I mean).

This year, Starbucks is introducing four new and fun summertime drinks which are the Starbucks Macadamia White Chocolate Latte, Starbucks Seaside Macadamia White Chocolate Frappuccino, Starbucks Mango on the Beach Frappuccino and Starbucks Strawberry Mango Jelly Starbucks M:LK Cream^TMOolong.

For this particular review, I decided to try two of the frappes which are the Seaside Macadamia White Chocolate Frappucino and Mango on the Beach Frappucino.

The Taste Test

The Seaside Macadamia White Chocolate Frappucino features White Chocolate Macadamia flavor with a dash of blueberry powder. It’s topped off with a white chocolate umbrella and sandy powder of graham crackers onto the whipping cream.

Because of it’s periwinkle blue and creamy white hues, this drink gets a beautiful ombre colour when you mix the two.

It tastes like a regular creamy vanilla based frappucino but with a strong nutty macadamia flavour. The hints of blueberry goes well with the nutty flavour.

If you taste them separately before you mix, you’ll find that the vanilla based cream tastes a bit bland and the blueberry sugar sand tastes too sweet. However, after mixing, they go wonderfully well together.

Next, the magnificent Mango on the Beach Frappucino features Alphonso mango flavoured cream with mango jelly inclusions and is topped off with crunchy graham crumbs and a cute umbrella.

The mango bits are the sweet jellied types, not the fresh ones you get in a Mango Shake but it’s nice nevertheless.

You know you like your mangoes fresh, rich and creamy right? I was expecting a drink like your regular pasar malam Mango Shake as they use real mango puree in them. However, this one has tiny hints of artificial mango flavour, you know, the ones you get when you drink mango cordials or syrup? Yes it tastes a bit like that.

The Verdict

I would say that I like the Seaside Macadamia White Chocolate Frappe more than the Mango on the Beach one. The first one has hints of blueberry and macadamia on a creamy vanilla-like base. They go perfectly well together for a drink to have by the seaside. This is definitely worth a try for those who like simple and subtle flavors.

The cute umbrella topping is what gets me the most excited to try the drinks. They’re adorable and they taste (sweet white chocolate) good too!

The Mango on the Beach is definitely refreshing and makes you feel like you’re at the beach. The mango bits are definitely good as they add a little bit of a different texture to your drink. This drink is perfect for those who love eccentric tastes and mangoes on a hot day.
