In Japan, convenience store food is a way of life, more than just the once in a while snack, bread, or coffee. Because Japanese life is so busy, many convenience stores also offer full meals that are convenient and ready-to-eat.

That’s what FamilyMart Malaysia is doing with their new Food Superstore concept, which puts the focus exclusively on food, food, and more food.

Chill Vibes

There is plenty of seating in the FamilyMart Food Superstores, complete with power plugs and transparent partitions for social distancing.

The seating arrangement comfortably seats singles, couples, or smaller groups of up to four.

The spacious seating is also some distance away from the front doors, so that customers will not be bothered by the flow of people entering and exiting the store.

Most importantly, the seating area allows for customers to enjoy their food, either fresh from their hot picks section or even just a soft-serve ice cream or coffee for tea-time.

Stock Up On Frozen Famima Favs For Home

The most exciting news for Famima lovers is that all your favourite food items are now available to buy in convenient frozen packs to bring home.

This means that you can cook your own oden in the comfort of your home!

Or Just Grab A Quick Meal There!

Alternatively, if you just really need to squeeze in a quick meal in your busy day, there’s always the usual Japanese rice balls onigiri or plenty of Japanese pastries to choose from.

Even better, you can upgrade your quick meal with new ready-to-eat food items such as fully cooked roast chicken strips, smoked salmon slices, or fresh fruits to go with a salad or bento.

In fact, there are also new dessert items such as macarons so you literally can get a full meal at the convenience store!

While other regular FamilyMart stores have the usual selections of convenient foods, only the new Food Superstores will house the frozen meals and oden ingredients, plus the full variety of ready-to-eat foods.

Currently, there are only 2 FamilyMart Food Superstores in the Klang Valley, though they have plans to open at least 20 new and convert some existing outlet into Food Superstores.
