So, I finally got my hands on an Ovaltine Crunchy Choc tub of ice cream, and of course the first thing I do is to take lots of pictures of it shove it in my mouth.

The Ovaltine Crunchy Choc is one of Wall’s newest ice-cream products released together with the Ovaltine Crunchy Pop.

The main difference between the two is that Ovaltine Crunchy Choc is the one in the tub, and Ovaltine Crunchy Pop is the popsicle stick version, but the ice-cream itself is also actually different!

Crunchy Choc features a chocolate malt ice cream with chocolate swirls and chocolate balls. This is different from the Crunchy Pop, which features white chocolate malt ice-cream and chocolate pop flakes on the outer coat instead.

The chocolate balls are a little biscuit-y, and add a really nice texture that accentuates the creaminess of the chocolate malt ice cream. (For a lack of better words, it tastes like the chocolate balls that you can get as toppings at Llao Llao.)

The chocolate malt ice-cream is truly smooth and creamy, with a malty richness that gives it more depth than usual chocolate ice cream.

Serious lovers of chocolate should definitely give the Ovaltine Crunchy Choc a shot just for how chocolate-y it is.

The Ovaltine Crunchy Pop is also quickly becoming a favourite but those who enjoy crunchy textures should try it.

The crunchy outer coat on its own is already great, but the pop flakes truly add a light crispy crunch that will make you want to keep munching away.

The white chocolate malt ice-cream also has a lovely malty richness, but is not as deeply chocolate at the Crunchy Choc.

Regardless of whether you’re a serious lover of a chocolate or simply flirting with crunchy ice-creams, both the Crunchy Choc and the Crunchy Pop are definitely worth a try.
