Starbucks has released another new line of drinks to beat the heat, this time sticking to their signature flavoured Frappucinos.
The new Strawberry Choux Cream Frappucino and Chocolate Choux Cream Frappucino are inspired by French choux pastries, which are light and delicate, and often used in airy desserts such as cream puffs and eclairs.
The Taste Test
The drink is creamy-smooth with a velvety pudding-like texture, which truly is reminiscent of the dessert.
Both Choux Cream Frappucinos feature a base of creamy vanilla bean custard sauce, milk, and ice blended together, then topped with vanilla bean custard-flavoured whipped cream and crumbly graham cracker bits.

The Strawberry Choux Cream Frappucino then adds layers of fresh strawberry chunks throughout the drink. The real fruit chunks are sweet with a light hint of tang which adds a wonderful fruity bite, while the graham cracker crumbles lends a crunchy texture which keeps the drink interesting.
The Chocolate Choux Cream Frappucino, on the other hand, uses layers of mocha sauce for a silky smooth drink with a royal aftertaste. The graham cracker crumbles with the whipped cream adds a little crunch that goes delightfully well with the richness of the frappucino. The mocha sauce on the bottom of the cup is a velvety, rich treat on its own, although you may want to taste a little sip of it before stirring the drink well.

The Verdict
The Choux Cream Frappucinos are definitely one of Starbucks’ better drink offerings this year, blending their signature ice-blended frappucino drinks seamlessly with classic dessert flavours that evoke a summer feel.
The Strawberry Choux Cream Frappucino will be great for those who are fond of fresh strawberries-and-cream in drink form, while the Chocolate Choux Cream Frappucino will be perfect for chocolate lovers without being too jelak.
