Ten Ringgit Plate : Kare Raisu – Home Edition
Nothing beats a good home-cooked meal.
We started our Ten Ringgit Plates series to showcase all the best places to get filling and delicious meals at RM10 or lower. During the Movement Control Order (MCO) period, we even did two episodes on the best RM10 plates that you can get delivered.
This time, however, we added a little twist and brought our series home to show how you can get a great home-cooked meal at just RM10 per plate.
Watch our how our hungry host, Anne, makes her signature Kare Raisu (Japanese curry rice) at just RM10 per plate, with the help of our friends from HappyFresh:
Here’s the list of ingredients we got from HappyFresh to make this dish:
- Vermont Curry mix
- Kokumaro curry mix
- Nichifuri Unagi furikake
- Yellow onions
- Carrots
- Russet potatoes
- Minced chicken
- Celery
- Calrose rice
Apparently, the secret to making great Japanese curry is to mix two different curry roux together. #TIL
The whole process didn’t take Anne more than 20 minutes – so not only is this an affordable and wholesome dish to make, it’s really easy to prepare as well!
Happy cooking!
