Nasi lemak is undoubtedly Malaysia’s national dish. In recent years, McDonald’s has fully embraced the meal, offering their Nasi Lemak McD together with their hugely popular Ayam Goreng McD.

Now, however, they are fully leaning into their Nasi Lemak menu, offering a brand new item to go with it: the classic Rendang Ayam McD.

The rendang ayam was pretty flavourful with a reasonable amount of heat. The rendang itself is not very spicy, making it easy for all ages to enjoy. In fact, the sambal that came with the nasi lemak was slightly spicier than the rendang!

Fans of McDonald’s pies will also enjoy the sweet corn flavoured pie, which boasts their usual crackly crust and creamy sweet corn.

The cendol flavoured McFlurry came as a surprise as to how well the creamy vanilla ice cream works with gula melaka and cendol. It brings to mind a thicker ice kacang to be enjoyed on scorching hot days.

In addition to that, customers now have the option to choose their favourite burger cutlets too, which means that you can have a plate of Nasi Lemak McD with either the Spicy Chicken McDeluxe Cutlet or the Grilled Chicken Burger (GCB) Cutlet instead!

If you’ve ever been torn between ordering the Nasi Lemak McD and one of your favourite burgers, this is like having the best of both worlds.

You can also pick up a cendol McFlurry and a sweet corn pie.
