Initially, Madam Saleha Abdullah started as a helper in her late mother’s nasi lemak stall. Later, with the support of her husband and a small starting capital of RM3,000, she expanded her business.

Saleha started her business with only one kilogram of rice and did not inject any more capital into her business. Instead, she relied on her children who helped her out despite their tight budget.

Slowly, her business grew to own lorries for delivering nasi lemak and having a staff count of 60 people.

For only RM 1.90, you can get a plate of nasi lemak together with all of its condiments; half a boiled egg, anchovies, slices of cucumber and the most heavenly sambal.

The sambal takes Saleha and her team about 6 to 7 hours of preparation to feed 2,000 customers. She starts preparing sambal as early as 4 a.m. every morning.

The secret to her success lies in never cutting corners on ingredients thus consistently keeping the fine quality of the food served.
