Pavilion Kuala Lumpur ushered in the Year of the Fire Horse with Journey to Prosperity, a spectacular Lunar New Year celebration running from now until 22 February 2026. Malaysia’s premier shopping destination transformed into a vibrant showcase of heritage, renewal and auspicious beginnings, bringing together cultural performances, immersive festive installations and rewarding shopping experiences while proudly supporting Visit Malaysia 2026 as an official strategic partner with Tourism Malaysia.

The celebrations were officially launched in the presence of Guest of Honour, Yang Berhormat Tuan Chiew Choon Man, Deputy Minister at Ministry Of Tourism, Arts and Culture, alongside Yang Berusaha Tuan Mohd Amirul Rizal Abdul Rahim, Director General at Tourism Malaysia, Dato’ Philip Ho, CEO of Pavilion REIT Management Sdn Bhd, Dato’ Joyce Yap, CEO of Pavilion Malls, members of the Pavilion REIT Board of Directors, and representatives from Maybank, UnionPay, Astro and Pop Mart. The occasion underscored Pavilion Kuala Lumpur’s continued role in elevating celebratory moments while contributing to Malaysia’s tourism and retail landscape.

Dato’ Joyce Yap shared, “Chinese New Year is a meaningful moment of renewal at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, bringing together our tenants, partners and the communities around us as we begin a new year. Journey to Prosperity reflects our commitment to honouring tradition while creating uplifting experiences for all who visit. As we welcome the Year of the Fire Horse, a symbol of strength, drive and new beginnings, we hope it inspires continued growth and positive momentum for our tenants and business partners. In the lead-up to Visit Malaysia 2026, this festive showcase also welcomes local shoppers and international visitors, reinforcing Pavilion KL’s position as a leading lifestyle and tourism destination.”

Inspired by the symbolism of strength, progress and fresh beginnings, the Year of the Fire Horse comes alive throughout Pavilion KL’s iconic spaces. The Centre Court has been transformed into the Prosperity Pavilion, featuring eight life-sized fibreglass horses galloping and charging forward, each adorned with specially-designed in-house floral patterns to usher in the Journey to Prosperity. The striking auspicious installation is further decorated with traditional motifs, elegant lanterns, and vibrant red-and-gold accents symbolising renewal and good fortune. The happenings are enriched by curated cultural showcases from selected tenants, including Yu Yan Tea’s artisanal Chinese teas, Gisselle Liu’s Hanfu experience and jewellery showcase, Vac Hub’s exquisite silk embroidery and custom Chinese seal creations with pottery, Venchi’s premium festive chocolate gift sets—alongside a line-up of interactive booths that invite visitors to discover, experience and celebrate Chinese heritage through contemporary craftsmanship.

This year’s Chinese New Year celebration is further elevated through an exclusive collaboration with Pop Mart, the globally acclaimed collectables brand. Blending cultural tradition with international pop culture appeal, the partnership reflects Pavilion KL’s ability to host premium brand offerings that resonate with both local and international audiences. The Fountain and Main Entrance are transformed into enchanting festive landscapes featuring Pop Mart’s beloved characters set against traditional lanterns and auspicious red-and-gold elements, creating visually captivating displays that enhance Malaysia’s worldwide visibility during the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.

Across the mall, immersive decorations continue to capture the warmth and spirit of the season. The Spanish Steps showcase heartwarming scenes that reflect cherished Lunar New Year moments – from a spirited lion dance ushering in good fortune and a grandmother distributing red packets of blessings, to a young calligrapher penning wishes for prosperity and a child sharing golden oranges symbolising abundance and harmony.

In partnership with Astro as its official media partner, Pavilion KL brings star power and nationwide reach to its celebrations.
