Hennessy Malaysia embarks on a marvellous journey of discovery with their cognac lovers in an intimate affair in Malaysia’s first flagship connoisseur’s store that boasts a luxurious atmosphere from the façade to the interior – The Chamber in Starhill, Kuala Lumpur.

The exclusive launch led guests through an extraordinary passage revealing the seven cocktail blends – a grand reveal of what the Hennessy X.O world has in store for 2023. It was an intimate affair of transcendental proportions – with each experience delivering new sensorial depth – with Hennessy X.O at the heart of this masterful occasion.

Translating into seven cocktails, Hennessy’s Tasting Committee explored every facet of the X.O blend and identified several sensations that were assimilated through seven chapters; the seven notes of this precious cognac discovered through the seven wonders of an extraordinary X.O world. The nose and palate embraces the seven notes present in each sip – Sweet Notes, Rising Heat, Spicy Edge, Flowing Flame, Chocolate Lull, Wood Crunches and Infinite Echo.

At its centre, Hennessy X.O is a deep and powerful eaux-de-vie, bestowing an unparalleled robustness. It is a bold, impactful cognac, that emanates a powerful statement on the palate yet brings forth an unexpected finesse that explores an epic journey with each and every one of your senses – providing that ultimate sensory experience. Such finesse is enjoyed not only by connoisseurs, but also by the sophisticated, the discerning, and the forward-thinking individuals.

Each spectacular cocktail creation is developed by Jordan Bushell, Hennessy Global Brand Ambassador under the strict supervision of Hennessy’s master blender, Renaud Fillioux De Gironde. Hennessy X.O’s seven tasting notes are reflected in each signature cocktail where the perfect balance of high quality ingredients allow the cognac flavours to shine while creating individuality within each cocktail. As we explore the different tasting notes, the iconic cognac is now more modern and versatile than ever.

Presented to delve deep into the depths of every sensation brought to life by each facet, the journey unveils the seven inspirational chapters that is the soul of the cognac. Complementing and amplifying the sensations of different tasting notes of the iconic cognac, each cocktail is created with precision and vision – committed to limited dilution ensuring the predominant taste of Hennessy X.O in each blend.

Each chapter reveals a master creation of discovering the seven signature cocktail blends inspired by the seven tasting notes. With just a sip from each cocktail, each tasting note is accentuated, harmonising with nuances of the blend that is Hennessy X.O.

Left: Sweet Notes – The pomegranate grenadine brings out the red fruit flavours and helps accentuate the light aspects, while the candied citrus notes are pleasantly highlighted through the dashes of orange bitters. Middle: Chocolate Lull – The subtle hint of cocoa in the sherry elevates the pairing of chocolate and Hennessy. A delicate balance of sweet and salty with a pinch of fleur de sel. Garnished with a chocolate truffle. Right: Wood Crunches – Features the strong relationship between Hennessy X.O and the oak barrels made from the Limousin forest. The sweetness of the maple syrup lingers alongside the smoked salt highlighting the oak notes.

The seven cocktails presented during the launch were crafted locally by renowned mixologist, Arsenio Mariano Jr, better known as Ash, with an extensive portfolio in the local and international bartending and cocktail scene. “Hennessy X.O is incredibly versatile and therefore lends itself well to cocktails – it gives me joy in being able to give cognac lovers a memorable experience with the seven cocktail drinks, each representing the distinct seven tasting notes. Taking guests through this sensorial experience was truly remarkable.” said Ash, Head Bartender of Moonbar at DC Restaurant 3.0.

The event captured the seven “chapters” of flavours and aromas that emerged during the Hennessy X.O cocktail experience, and the elements present in the incredibly nuanced cognac exudes a startlingly powerful and creative interpretation of the seven unique Hennessy X.O tasting notes.
