In an effort to further empower the Orang Asli (OA) community in the country, Ninja Van Malaysia has announced their partnership with Global Peace Foundation Malaysia to act as the foundation’s primary delivery partner for programmes targeted at building resilient and cohesive Orang Asli communities.

The partnership between Ninja Van Malaysia and Global Peace Foundation Malaysia will see the implementation of projects that aim to impact over 96 villages with clean water, 92 villages with Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WaSH) training, 37 villages with renewable solar energy, and 18 villages with food farms.

“At Ninja Van Malaysia, we are dedicated to go beyond logistics and do our part in extending a helping hand to the villagers. We understand that the pandemic has brought about loss of livelihood and food insecurity for this group of community and as such, we are honoured to be working with Global Peace Foundation Malaysia, delivering quick and meaningful impact by supporting them with the transportation of materials to help facilitate programmes that will empower the villagers on natural resource conservation and sustainable livelihoods.

According to Global Peace Foundation Malaysia, there are over 217,000 OA villagers comprising 18 sub-ethnic groups in Malaysia, with Perak and Pahang accounting for 70% of them.

Half of the population is categorised as poor, while 1/3 are hard-core poor. Through careful observations and assessments, a series of programmes have been curated over the years to address the underlying challenges that the community face, especially when it comes to having access to basic amenities such as access to proper hygiene, poverty, food security & nutrition, and the scarcity of clean water.

We are delighted to welcome Ninja Van Malaysia onboard as our trusted and reliable delivery partner to further support our mission in building resilient OA communities. Since its inception 10 years ago, Global Peace has worked with over 70 villages on providing access to clean water, energy, sustainable livelihood and education. Through this strategic partnership with Ninja Van Malaysia, we could reduce the logistic costs and allow more funds to be channeled towards our projects, thereby reaching more villagers in need.

The projects rolled out by Global Peace Foundation Malaysia are in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030 and aim to facilitate intercultural cooperation, strengthen families and communities, and foster a culture of service and peace.
