Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh and her husband Ramachandran Muniandy have divorced after 18 years of marriage.
The confirmation came through a single update to her official website today 2 (Sep) — the same platform that lists her portfolio, her constituency, and her party positions.
Her press secretary, Ahmad Fazli Mohd Yadi, later verified it to media outlets.
The couple married in January 2008, shortly before Yeoh first ran for public office.
They share two daughters — Shay, 15, and Kayleigh, 13.
In Public and In Private
Both Yeoh and Ramachandran, each 47, met at a church and joined DAP together in 2007 — Ramachandran has since built a career in technology, currently serving as CEO and co-founder of Asia Mobiliti, a digital transport solutions company.
In March, Yeoh marked 18 years in public life with a celebratory post.
I can now be considered an adult in Malaysian politics.
By September, a quieter milestone had also closed: 18 years of marriage, confirmed not by a statement, but a website update.
