A Threads user posted about his plans to head to a very specific coordinate where you can capture a photo of the iconic twin towers with the sun setting almost perfectly in between each tower.
In his post, @zairulpuad informed photography enthusiasts and hobbyists to join the rare occasion this 4 and 5 July.
“The solar alignment will return again soon. I want to invite everyone on a photo outing this 4 and 5 July. It’s free, no charges. Let’s take pictures like these together. It’s open to all cameras and phones,” he wrote in a Threads post dated 12 June.
In a more recent post, he shared a screenshot of a visualiser app that measures the trajectory of the sun.
He also shared the coordinates of where to take the photo from:

Checks by TRP on Google Maps found that the coordinates lead to the Ampang Lookout Point along Jalan Hulu Langat, a popular viewpoint that offers panoramic views of Kuala Lumpur.

This alignment only happens on certain days in a year
This rare and highly sought-after celestial alignment only happens at certain times in a year. Because the sun’s path shifts slightly each year, the exact dates vary, but photographers often gather at elevated eastern viewpoints around these times to capture the perfect framing.
To witness or photograph this alignment, you need an elevated perspective looking perfectly west toward the Kuala Lumpur city center, which is why the most popular and accessible public vantage point for this exact view is Bukit Ampang (the Ampang Lookout Point), which provides the necessary elevation and angle to line the sunset up perfectly behind the towers.
As a friendly reminder, do note that the road to the viewpoint is a public road used by motorists and commercial vehicles. Be mindful of your parking and do not block the roads for the safety of other road users and also to prevent unnecessary traffic congestion.
