Malaysian Masseuses Win Gold And Silver At Massage Championship In Japan

Two Malaysians from the Malaysia Therapists Team bagged gold and silver medals in their respective categories at the Asia Massage Championship (AMC) 2026 on 2 and 3 June at the National Yoyogi Stadium Second Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.

Mazlin Mazlan, better known as Tanamera, won the gold medal in the Oil Massage Category. This achievement proved the technical skill, professional touches, and high discipline she possessed throughout the competition.

Meanwhile, Lim Sim Zher also brought pride to Malaysia when she came out as runner-up in the Eastern Freestyle Massage category.

Mazlin and Lim went up against other massage professionals from all over Asia including Thailand, Japan, South Korea, and China.

The competition judges participants in six different categories:

Oil Massage
Body Care (Stretch)
Facial
Thai Traditional
Freestyle Western
Freestyle Eastern

AMC is a competitive platform that gathers professional therapists and masseuses, rehabilitation specialists, and wellness enthusiasts from various countries. Evaluating the participants is a panel industry experts from all over the world.

The championship evaluates not only massage techniques but also aspects of anatomy, body ergonomics, creative treatment, hand pressure control, communications with the client, and the participants’ professionalism while performing a demonstration.
