Mekdi’s McShaker Fries And McFlurry Make Appearance At McDonald’s Convention In Las Vegas
McShaker Fries is one of those things you can’t pass up once you see it appear on the McDonald’s menu.

A few Malaysian favourites from the McDonald’s Malaysia menu stole the social media spotlight at the McDonald’s Worldwide Convention.
The event, a massive, bi-annual gathering of the fast food chain’s franchisees, suppliers, and top-performing crew members, was held from 1 to 4 June in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Attendees could sample all the different menu items from McDonald’s from all over the world, while franchise operators could compare notes with their international counterparts.

Among the most talked-about menu items from Malaysian outlets were the Smokey BBQ McShaker Fries and the Salted Caramel Oreo McFlurry.
Although not exclusive to the country, the two products are highly popular among Malaysians and frequently appear on the Mcdonald’s seasonal menus.

The hand-breaded fried chicken, or Ayam Goreng McD as we call it it here, also received attention at the convention.
Gary He, an award-winning journalist from Brooklyn, gave the fried chicken a try and called it “superb” for its crunchiness and good use of spices, something we Malaysians can definitely relate to.
While McDonald’s hand-breaded fried chicken is not exclusive to Malaysia and is a regional menu item, Ayam Goreng McD is typically served with Nasi Lemak McD, which is only found in McDonald’s outlets in Malaysia.
Brazil, Japan, and Canada were frequently mentioned too
Besides the Malaysian favourites, content creators who attended the event also highlighted exclusive menu items from other McDonald’s outlets around the world.
A popular item from McDonald’s in Brazil is the Cheddar McMelt, an iconic burger known for its signature dark, sesame-seed bun featuring a savoury beef patty, rich cheddar cheese sauce, and onions caramelized in soy-based sauce.
Meanwhile, McDonald’s Japan’s Garlic Pepper Chicken McNuggets are a fan-favorite, limited-time menu item. They use 100% chicken breast seasoned with garlic, black pepper, and chili. They were so popular that they have been rolled out to international markets, including Singapore and Australia.
From McDonald’s Canada, many featured the Hot Honey McCrispy — a limited-time specialty sandwich featuring a crispy chicken fillet drizzled with sweet and spicy hot honey sauce, complemented by crispy jalapeños, lettuce, and mayo on a toasted potato roll.
