Former 988 DJ Discovers Her Photos Shared In Inappropriate Facebook Groups For Years

Former 988 radio DJ Joycelyn made a disturbing discovery when a stranger tagged her in a Facebook group, revealing that her photos had been collected and shared without consent in inappropriate groups for years.

Former 988 radio DJ Joycelyn was in for a shock when she found out her photos had been circulating in inappropriate Facebook groups – and not just recently, but for years.

The discovery came after a stranger tagged her in one of these groups, prompting her to investigate further. What she found left her both angry and disturbed.

“Some people just won’t behave like decent human beings – do they have to act like animals?” she wrote in a Facebook post on Saturday (3 January).

Joycelyn, whose full name is Joycelyn Chu, said her photos had been collected and shared without her permission for years.

Worse still, she wasn’t the only victim – several other women had also been targeted.

She urged the public to help report the accounts and pages involved, sharing links to what appeared to be a fake Facebook profile and a page with sexual content.

Screenshots attached to her post showed her photos being shared in a group with inappropriate captions.

Chu joined 988 in 2013 and became a household name among Chinese radio listeners in Malaysia.

She started as an assistant and co-host on the morning show “早点Up” (Morning Up) in 2018, while also hosting the Sunday programme “加加超油感”.

By 2019, she had become the lead host of “早点Up”, a role she held until leaving the station in 2024.

Despite stepping away from radio, she remains active on social media, where she has a loyal following.

Her post quickly gained traction, amassing nearly 32,000 views within hours of publication.

Many flooded the comments section with messages of support, condemning the actions as a serious violation of privacy and a form of gender-based violence.

Some called for platforms and authorities to take stronger action against such behaviour, while others reminded the public not to share or save questionable images, as doing so makes them part of the problem.
