Reports have emerged that scammers have been using the name of online ticketing company Ticket2u Sdn Bhd to dupe unsuspecting individuals into buying tickets for fictitious concerts.
The scammers reportedly set up a fake website, liveticket2u.com, and have been advertising concerts for popular acts such as Ed Sheeran, Maroon 5, Black Eyed Peas, John Legend, Eric Chou, and Crowd Lu.
Ticket2u Sdn Bhd has since issued a statement on its social media pages, warning the public of the scam and advising them to be cautious when purchasing tickets online.
The company has reported the issue to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
An investigation is currently underway to identify the culprits behind the fraudulent scheme.
The public needs to remain vigilant and only purchase tickets from reputable sources.
