Unidentified Woman’s Body Found In Ditch, Suspected Murder

The woman is suspected to have been murdered.

The body of a woman believed to be a resident was found in a drain behind a house in Taman Perpaduan, Bakar Arang.

Kuala Muda OCPD, Assistant Commissioner Zaidy Che Hassan, stated that the police received a report about the body’s discovery from a member of the public at around 5:47 pm.

Upon arrival, the police discovered the body of a woman wearing a kaftan dress (baju kelawar) without any undergarments.

According to initial investigations, a witness reported smelling a foul odour behind the house.

At first, he thought the smell was coming from inside the toilet and washed it, but it persisted. The witness then opened the back door of his house and found a woman’s body in the drain.

The Forensic Unit at the Kedah State Police Headquarters investigated the scene, and the woman’s body was sent to Hospital Sultan Abdul Halim for an autopsy.

Zaidy urged anyone who witnessed the incident or had information about missing family members to come forward and report to the nearest police station.

At the time of writing, the police classified the case as sudden death while awaiting the autopsy results.
