The deaths of a husband and his 6-month pregnant wife near the Second Link in Johor have raised questions among family members.

The victims are 36-year-old Low Kim Cheong and his 30-year-old wife, Tan Li Ru.

The accident happened around 7:00 am at the 18.4km mark of the Second Link.

The couple was heading to Singapore through the Tuas Checkpoint on a motorcycle for work.

According to Johor police, the motorcycle had skidded by itself and involved a single vehicle.

The elder sister of the deceased woman, Tan Liqin, was quoted by Singapore media Shin Min Daily News as saying that the family doubted the cause of the accident.

Tan, who visited the accident scene, concluded that the couple’s motorcycle did not slip and lost control.

According to passers-by, a driver hit them and fled, Tan added.

Some people at the scene said that a silver (Malaysian) locally-made car hit them and then fled the scene, but we did not see it with our own eyes.

Tan Liqin on why the family thinks there could be more as to what actually happened to the couple.

Tan has since filed a police report on the matter.

Some of the family members and relatives of the deceased turned to social media to search for answers as they grieved the tragic loss.

They put up photos of the scene, hoping to find drivers who passed by at the time so that they could obtain evidence such as dashcam recordings.
