Photo Of Russian Couple Standing Atop Merdeka 118 Sold For Nearly RM43k

Russian daredevil Angela Nikolau has auctioned a photo of her standing atop Merdeka 118 for nearly RM43,000.
The photo was sold as non-fungible tokens (NFT) for 7.69 ether (ETH), a cryptocurrency used to pay for transaction fees and computational services.
At the time of writing, an ether is equivalent to RM5,572.23.
Nikolau posted about the auction on her Twitter account.
It was won by Twitter user @Antxx, who is said to be an art collector.
@Antxx described the price paid as a bargain.

Meanwhile, authorities are still searching for Nikolau and her partner Ivan Beerkus.
The couple had been basking in the limelight at Malaysia’s expense.

According to Utusan Malaysia, citing a source, there is no record of the couple entering Malaysia recently.
The report also said that an investigation into the matter was still ongoing.
The couple posted about their deed atop the high-rise on SkyscraperCity.com on 27 December last year.
The public was immediately confounded about how they eluded security to get to the top.

Nikolau had previously boasted about how she pulled off the stunt without being arrested, as if mocking the law and authorities.
