Face Masks No Longer Mandatory Even Indoors, Says KKM

Face masks will no longer be required while indoors, announced the Health Ministry today.
According to their statement, although face masks will no longer be mandatory, premise owners are allowed to enforce the face mask requirement if they want to, such as in private areas like shopping malls, shops, or restaurants.

Additionally, there are some areas where face masks will still be required:
- If you are Covid-positive
- When in healthcare facilities such as hospitals, clinics, nursing homes
- When riding public transportation such as busses, trains, taxis, e-hailing rides
The Health Ministry still highly recommends wearing a face mask when you are
- At crowded places such as a pasar malam, stadium, malls, etc
- If you are feeling sick or unwell with fever, cough, sore throat, or other symptoms (even if it is not Covid)
- Someone at high-risk such as the elderly, young children, the immuno-compromised, with existing chronic illnesses
- With someone at high-risk
Other than that, wearing face masks will be optional for the public, both in indoor and outdoor situations.
