Fancy a round of badminton while shopping for your sporting goods?

French sports retailer Decathlon is taking the lead in meeting the rise in demand for health and wellness with its second one-of-its-kind unique sports experience centre in Lotus’s Puchong. 

The latest Decathlon outlet is home to a Badminton World Federation approved court and two fitness studios that are set to impress. 

Decathlon Malaysia aims to offer the best badminton products through a collaboration with Protech, the market leader in the development and manufacturing of shuttlecocks and all badminton related accessories.

The facilities are complete with lockers, toilets and showers, it’s another pilot case for many changes that redefines the traditional brick-and-mortar retail experience.

Users can easily book their slot using the Play by Decathlon mobile app, which also serves as a platform to meet new players.

Users can also book coaching sessions to improve their technique with Decathlon’s badminton coaching team.

Aside from this, Decathlon Puchong also aspires to build a sustainable fitness community with Believe Studio, the first hybrid concept group exercise by Believe Fitness.

Believe Studio will be offering various signature classes along with zumba and yoga classes in the 2 Decastudios at the outlet.

Making Sports Relevant For Malaysians

Ahead of the opening of the Puchong store in Lotus’s recently, Decathlon Malaysia’s commanders-in-chief Arnaud Sauret explained why Decathlon is doing so much in such a short time.

We want to understand and showcase how Malaysians experience and live their favourite sports, hence this very bespoke business model has been adapted to suit the local sport market
