Electricity Supply Problem Caused Today’s LRT Disruption, Says Prasarana

This time the LRT disruption isn’t about brake pads.

In a statement, Prasarana clarified that power supply problem caused the disruption earlier today that had trains on the Kelana Jaya line come to a stop in the middle of the track.

They experienced power supply problems at two Traction Power Sub Stations (TPSS) at Taman Jaya Station and Universiti Station this morning.

Initial investigations showed that the circuit breaker was disconnected, thus disrupting the power supply causing the train to come to a standstill.

Passengers were ushered off the trains.

To rectify the issue, power to the train at Taman Jaya station, headed towards Putra Heights, was temporarily cut at 8.36am.

However, by 8.48am, the power supply was restored and the train was operational once again.
