There is a saying that you should show love to your neighbour as yourself.

Unfortunately, love can sometimes be subjective.

A woman was recently informed by her neighbour that her cat was abducted.

The pet owner, Fifi Anis, was grateful to her neighbour for alerting her.

However, she was also puzzled as the neighbour had witnessed the whole incident.

The neighbour recorded the abduction on a phone but did nothing else to stop the kidnapper.

The neighbour informed her afterwards, which was too late as the culprit had made off with the feline.

Dumbstruck, Fifin posted the incident on social media.

She is appealing to the public to help her find the cat, which was abucted by a female ‘kidnapper’ on a bicycle.

According to Fifin, her cat – called Blackie and of Maine Coon breed – was abducted around 5pm on 18 March 18 by the kidnapper.

It is understood that the incident took place in Taman Desa Jaya, Johor Bahru.

Netizens Puzzled

Netizens criticised the neighbour for failing to do the right thing, which is to call out the kindapper.

At the very least, the neighbour could have alerted the owner.

Some netizens expressed fear that the cat would be eaten as they speculated on the nationality of the kidnapper.

Gentle Giants

Maine Coon cats are known to be especially friendly, furry, and intelligent.

The size and temperament of a small dog, Maine Coon cats are an expensive breed.

In Malaysia, a Maine Coon kitten can cost RM3,000 and above, while a pure Maine Coon breed can even go up to RM7,000.

Maine Coon cats are quite adaptable and seem to get along with everyone – attributes which might have aided the abduction.
