Sometimes it is hard to find a parking space at the mall especially on weekends and public holidays.

Recently, a woman booked a parking space in a mall in Kuala Lumpur by standing at the spot.

Her socially inconsiderate behavior was recorded and uploaded to social media by TikTok user @mirakir.

In a series of videos, the woman could be seen standing there with her suitcase as she stood guard at the parking lot.

Shortly after, it could be seen that a vehicle wanted to park there but was stopped by the woman.

Roasted By Netizens

Netizens criticised the woman’s folly because she didn’t only inconvenience others but potentially endangered the other person.

Others pointed out that the mall is big and she didn’t have to book a parking lot in such manner.

A Crime Under The Road Transport Act

The police had previously stated that such an act is against the law.

The public actually has a few ways to make a report to the JPJ (with photo or video evidence):

  1. Sending a message with any details you have to 011-5111 5252 over WhatsApp
  2. Sending an e-mail to aduantrafik@jpj.gov.my
  3. Calling 03-8886-6412

The evidence should include the following:

  1. Your contact details (including your NRIC)
  2. The location
  3. The date and time
  4. The license plate
  5. The details of what happened

For sure, such incidents are not just a Malaysian thing.

Previously, a similar incident in eastern China’s Jiangsu province went viral on social media.

Two women tried to occupy an empty parking space for their friend who was on the way to the car park.

A driver then pushed the women away with his car and forced his way to the same parking spot.
